Morning Market (Talad Sao)

Located in a small lane behind the tourism office, parallel to the main street but on the Mekong River side, this vibrant market is a place to see local food at its best.

  • Open at 6:00, just after Sai Bat and close by 10:30.

Every possible type of fresh food (vegetables, fruits, meats, fish, and so on) regionally available. You can find local snacks or ingredients to cook Lao food.

Dara Market

Situated in the city centre at the foot of Phousi hill, right at the intersection of Kitsalat and Ratsavong Roads.

  • Open daily from 8:30 to 17:30.

It is the city’s oldest permanent market and a great place to go for everything from Lao sin (traditional skirts) to the kinds of household and travel items you can’t find at the morning and night markets.

Pho Si Market

Located on the road to Kuang Si Waterfalls. This market is about a 5 minutes drive or twenty minute walk from the tourism office.

  • Open from 6:00 to 15:30.

Fresh food, fabrics, clothing, household and travel items.
